Welcome to ‘Brand in a Box': a weekly drop where I create a fictional brand & give you….
-
custom color palette & font pairings
-
my reasons behind those choices
-
a website mockup so you can see HOW those elements come together (your most-requested feature!)
This weeks 'Brand in a Box' is Petite Sweets: a nostalgic ice cream truck based in Chicago, IL. I imagined that this brand leaned into 1950's vibes- so you'll see lots of nostalgic fonts and midcentury modern colors.
This one was SO much fun to create. I loved playing with 'sweeter' colors, which meant punching up the saturation a bit. I like having these two dual hero colors in shades of aqua- I think it definitely gives it a sweet retro vibe and would make the food truck SUPER easy to spot in the wild.
I can totally picture spotting this ice cream truck at a local Chicago park and ordering a sundae. Maybe I'm just hungry, but this brand was a lot of fun to create.

The Fonts
The main heading font is 'Neulis Alt', one of my favorite playful sans serifs. It's easy to read but has that *little something special*. I also mixed in 'Milkstore' as a nostalgic script font- this font always gives me 1950's, classic Coca Cola vibes. I think these two fonts work perfectly to say *SO MUCH* about the brand and its values.
